Apollon est Nadir Nadir est Apollon | Experimental video art
Porto, Portugal; 2020
António Baía Reis and Francisco Modesto
Apollon est Nadir Nadir est Apollon [Apollo is Nadir Nadir is Apollo] is multimedia art, experimental music, and poetic expression in its form and appropriation and expression of the universe of the artist Nadir Afonso, and of his work Apollo, in its essence. Apollo is synonymous with harmony, perfection, balance, sun, metaphysics, symbol of prophetic and artistic inspiration. Nadir is the pure expression of a mathematical artistic essence, a precision that stems from intuition and that manifests itself in the realm of painting. Apollo is immortality, a continuum. Nadir is non-time or the argument of its existence. Based on the combination of animation techniques generated by artificial intelligence with the creation of a visual aesthetic grammar using digital collage, generative art, and pixel sorting that decomposes the original Apollo painting into unique visual elements, but also the creation of an original musical and theatrical narrative inspired by the Nadirian and Apollonian universes, the authors were able to achieve a mesmerizing visual narrative drenched with dreamlike poetics and music.

A sculpture left to oblivion | Performative installation
Madeira, Portugal; 2020
A sculpture left to oblivion is a performative installation in its form and an aesthetic and social exorcism in its essence. Inspired by the sculpture “Daily Income” by Madeiran artist António Rodrigues, and having as a creative matrix the combination of musical, theatrical, and pictorial performance, Baía Reis manipulates sound, voice, color, and movement to make the public aware of the idea of ostracized works of art.

Canada; Small File Media Festival; 2020
Synopsis: Distinguished futurists make predictions for the next 7 years, Sci-Fi dares to foresee the next 100! What about now Minsky? What about now Minsky? is a video art/musical statement created by António Baía Reis. A recycled vision of color distortion and piano performance. Emovere | Performative video art
Porto, Portugal; 2015
Emovere combines acting, music, and video art through fundamental emotions. Each emotion is conveyed through an improvisational game, merging body expression, visceral sounds, piano playing, and distorted colors. Emovere is born out of an almost primal need. It is a manifestation of the artist's adamant desire to communicate in an intuitive, subliminal way. It is a mirror of emotions, unsoiled, and without a language, just pure and raw imaginative instinct.
